The Story Behind The Song:

"Bright Blue Eyes" was written soon after Joe and Theresa celebrated the birth of their firstborn son. After the initial shock of becoming new parents, life started to settle down to a beautiful rhythm again.

"Watching my son grow was pure joy, but it also put me in touch with my own inner child, the childlike wonder inside all of us that gets forgotten about as we get older." (Theresa, MADE US ALIVE)

Theresa wrote these lyrics as a personal testimony, after a time of dark depression and fragile mental health in which she felt like she was broken and would never be good enough or worthy of God's grace. God's Spirit of Love lifted her up, showed her that she is not loved because of anything she does but because she is God's child.

YOU are not loved because of what you do, but because you are God's child.

"But because of His great Love for us, God who is rich in Mercy, MADE US ALIVE with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved." (Ephesians 2: 4-5)


The song: SHINE ON ME was also inspired by Psalm 121:

"I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." (Psalm 121:1-2)
